Horses come first

As a lifelong rider, I wanted to build an active livery yard designed around what horses truly need.

What makes us different

A horse's mind plays a huge part in its performance. With that in mind, here is what sets us apart:

Free-access hay
In the wild, horses feed themselves. Here, they never have to wait for their next meal.
Active stabling
More space, varied terrain and enrichment stations: that is daily life for horses at the yard.
Focused on your goals
A qualified independent instructor since 2017, I know how to bring out the best in your horses.

Services & rates

Écurie de la Lizaine offers private and group riding lessons, one-day holiday camps, competition coaching and equine-assisted therapy.

Several livery options are available for your horse. All of them respect horses' fundamental welfare needs.

Every horse has access to the outdoors, grazing areas and free-access hay.

About Laura

Laura Jardon, independent riding instructor, trained at the MFR des 4 Vents (Vosges, France) before earning her professional riding-instructor qualification. Four months in Poland as a stable and competition rider at the international yard Centrum Hipiki (Antoni Chłapowski) sharpened her skills in bringing on young horses and competing abroad.

Self-employed since 2017, she has worked with private livery yards, riding schools, associations, breeders and individual owners.

In 2023 she launched a project of her own: Écurie de la Lizaine, in the heart of Frahier-et-Châtebier (Haute-Saône, France). This active livery yard, dedicated to horse owners, is built entirely around equine welfare — fields, enrichment stations and stables opening onto large paddocks. The yard also offers horse schooling, with a lunging ring, a large outdoor arena, and an indoor arena available on request.

Frequently asked questions

Membership, booking, cancellations, equine therapy: what we get asked the most.

What is the difference between member and non-member rates?

Every lesson has two rates: for instance €35 for a private lesson as a member versus €40 as a non-member, and the 10-lesson cards (€330 private, €160 group) are members-only. If you ride regularly, membership pays for itself quickly — call 06 74 55 08 93 for details.

How do I book, and what if something comes up?

Booking is done online via the “Book now” button, on real-time available slots. A lesson can be cancelled up to 24 hours in advance; after that it is due. If the weather turns bad or something happens at the yard, we notify riders directly by push notification: install the app (install banner) then enable the bell to receive alerts.

What is equine-assisted therapy?

Equine-assisted therapy uses contact with the horse as a medium: groundwork or ridden sessions, adapted to each person's pace, in a calm and safe setting. Sessions are built case by case — the easiest is to call 06 74 55 08 93 to talk it through.

Can I visit the yard before deciding?

Of course. The video at the top of this page gives a first look — it was filmed while the yard was being built, and the facilities (fields, paddocks, arena, lunging ring) have grown since. A visit is easily arranged with a phone call to 06 74 55 08 93 or by email.

How do I hear about freed-up slots or camp registrations?

Install the app on your phone (via the install banner), then enable the bell at the bottom left: you will get a notification when a slot frees up, when camp registrations open, or if a session is cancelled due to weather. You can also follow the yard on Instagram and Facebook.
