Hosting

Website hosted by Vercel Inc., 340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, United States (vercel.com). Audience measurement data is hosted in Europe on a private server and is not passed on to third parties.

Audience measurement

This website uses self-hosted audience measurement tools (Umami, Pulse) that set no cookies and collect no data that could identify you. In line with article 82 of the French Data Protection Act and the guidelines of the CNIL (the French data protection authority), this measurement is exempt from consent: no banner is needed.

Notifications (yard alerts)

If you choose to (bell “Turn on alerts”), the website can send you occasional notifications: cancellation or postponement in bad weather, a place freeing up, camp sign-ups opening. The subscription relies on your browser’s notification service: a technical delivery address (with no personal data) is kept on our private server in Europe, only to send these alerts. You can unsubscribe at any time with the same bell or in your browser settings; the address is then deleted.

In the app installed on your phone, booking turns notifications on: your phone asks your permission to show them, and the schedule only opens once it is given. If you have already allowed them, they turn on without a new question, even if you had turned them off with the bell. You can turn them off again at any time in the same way. Without notifications, you can still book from the website in your browser, by phone or by text message.

If you are signed in to your member area, the subscription is also linked to an opaque technical identifier derived from your account: neither your name nor your email address is sent to the notification server. It is used only to send you the notifications that concern you (a professional visiting for your horse, a place freeing up, a cancellation). It is unlinked as soon as you sign out, and at the latest one year after your last sign-in.

In “Mon compte”, the “Mon profil” page lets you choose which notifications you accept: places freeing up, messages from the yard, care visits for your horse. Your choice is kept in the yard’s private management spreadsheet, shown to the yard on your record, and applies to all your devices. Notifications that follow something you did are always sent: a lesson you booked cancelled by the yard, a reply to your message, a care visit your horse is signed up for, a volunteering event cancelled. An emergency (yard closed, lessons cancelled because of the weather) is sent to every subscribed phone, whatever your choice.

Contact and booking

Information sent by email or through the contact form is intended only for Écurie de la Lizaine, to handle your request. The contact form and the satisfaction survey are delivered by Formspree (Formspree Inc., United States), under its own privacy policy (formspree.io/legal). This information is not passed on or used for any other purpose, and is kept for at most 12 months after the last exchange. You have the right to access, correct and erase it by writing to ecurie.lizaine@gmail.com. Bookings are made through Calendly (Calendly LLC, United States), a third-party service under its own privacy policy (calendly.com/privacy). The upcoming times shown on the website are fetched by our server: your browser does not contact Calendly to display them. The booking module only loads when you explicitly ask for it (tapping a time or a booking button, opening a notification that offers a booking, or opening a shared booking link): no request is sent to Calendly otherwise. Once the module is open, Calendly may set its own cookies as part of making the booking.

Member area

The member area is optional. When you click “Continue with Google”, you are sent to Google (Google Ireland Ltd), which gives us your name, email address and profile photo. To keep you signed in, this information is kept in a signed cookie in your browser (30 days), strictly necessary for the sign-in you asked for and therefore exempt from consent. It is used to pre-fill your booking requests and the contact form, to show your booking history in the member area (read on demand from Calendly with your email address, never copied into a database; the Excel export is generated on the fly for you alone), to run the yard’s accounts (sessions, prices, payments and, for owners, their horse’s livery and care, shown in the “Mon cheval” tab, your answers to proposed care visits, and your account statement: amounts due, payments and discounts recorded by the yard, shown in the “Mon compte” tab), to organise volunteering (your availability, phone number and roles, visible only to the yard; other volunteers only see your first name), to give you a personal, secret calendar link for your reminders, and to give access to event photo albums: access is open to clients, with our server checking your email address against past bookings recorded in Calendly (nothing from this check is kept). No Google script is loaded on the website before your click. The “Sign out” button deletes the cookie. Album photos and videos are stored in a private Google Drive space belonging to the yard and are only visible to signed-in clients; a video is played in pieces through our hosting provider, without ever being saved by the website. To have a photo or video of you or your child removed, write to ecurie.lizaine@gmail.com.

You can also sign in without a Google account, with your email address: a one-time code, valid for 10 minutes, is sent to you from the yard’s Gmail mailbox (Google Ireland Ltd), which keeps a copy of the message in its sent mail. The code is not stored anywhere: our server recomputes it to check it. A technical cookie keeps your address for the duration of this check (10 minutes at most). To limit how many codes are sent, your email address and IP address are counted for one hour, and your IP address is also counted to limit incorrect codes: these counters stay in the server’s memory, in hashed form, without being recorded anywhere else. On your first sign-in, if the yard does not know your name yet, the name you enter is recorded in your profile (see below), where you can change or delete it. Everything else is the same as Google sign-in: your name and email address are kept in the same signed cookie in your browser (30 days) and used for the same purposes. Whichever way you sign in, to protect the site from abuse, what you save from your member area (profile, message, reply, sign-up) is counted per account and per IP address, for 24 hours at most, in the same way: in the server’s memory, in hashed form.

In “Mon compte”, the “Mon profil” page lets you fill in yourself a photo, your name, your phone number, how you prefer to be contacted, the person to call in an emergency and the riders on your account (first and last name, level, date of birth, FFE licence number). All of it is optional, except the date of birth of a rider you add: it shows whether they are under 18. It is stored in the yard’s private management spreadsheet (Google Sheets, Google Ireland Ltd), visible only to the yard, and used only to reach you, to call the person you named if there is an accident, and to organise lessons, riding exams and competitions. You can change or delete it at any time from the same page. If you name a person to call in an emergency, let them know that their name and number are given to the yard.

When you book while signed in to your member area, the chosen rider’s name, and depending on the lesson their level, licence number and your profile phone number, are pre-filled in the Calendly form (their date of birth is not sent). For a rider under 18, the legal guardian’s consent is asked for at each booking (if their date of birth is missing, you confirm they are 18 or over or give this consent): the date, the lesson, the time slot, the rider, their date of birth and the text you ticked are recorded in the yard’s management spreadsheet as proof of this consent. When you are not signed in, or have no rider in your profile, booking starts with a question: is the rider under 18? If so, you enter their name and date of birth and give this consent, recorded in the same way and then linked to the Calendly booking that follows (with the booking’s email address); the rider’s name is pre-filled in the Calendly form. To prevent abuse, your IP address is counted for one hour, only in the server’s memory and in hashed form. The yard also notes there the horse it assigns to each rider for a lesson, visible only to the yard.

So that they stay available without a connection, the member area pages (dashboard, lessons, account and profile, horse, volunteering) are saved on your phone, and nowhere else: the ones you open, and the others in advance during a visit with a good connection. This copy only serves one account: it is erased when you sign out, when another account signs in on the same phone and when your session ends. If you sign out without a connection, the copy is erased at once and your member area will not reopen without signing in again; a technical cookie completes the sign-out automatically when the connection comes back. A page saved more than 30 days ago is no longer shown, and it is erased the next time the app is opened. Photo albums, the booking page and the yard’s management pages are never saved.

Your data and your rights

EARL Écurie de la Lizaine (details above) is the controller of this processing. It keeps a private management spreadsheet (Google Sheets, Google Ireland Ltd), visible only to the yard, listing its clients (name, email address, phone number, membership), their sessions, lesson cards, payments and discounts, the livery and care of the horses, answers to proposed care visits, volunteering (availability, phone number, roles), the profiles filled in in the member area, the parental consents given when booking, the horses assigned to riders and the messages exchanged with the yard through the “Écrire à Laura” button of the member area (with the name, email address, chosen subject and the page they were sent from, and the yard’s replies). The “Signaler un bug” button of the member area sends the description of the problem, the screenshots you add and, to help reproduce it, your name, your email address, the page, the device and browser, the screen size, the site version and the latest errors noticed by the browser to the site’s technical manager only: by email from the yard’s Gmail mailbox, and in the management spreadsheet, without the screenshots. Your data is never sold or passed on: only the yard and the technical providers named on this page have access to it, for the service described.

Legal bases: lessons, camps, livery, care and your account (amounts due and payments) are necessary to perform the contract between you and the yard; keeping payment records is a legal obligation (accounting); replying to your messages, bug reports, volunteering, photo albums and audience measurement rely on the yard’s legitimate interest; notifications and the optional details in “Mon profil” rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

How long data is kept: payments and accounting records, 10 years (legal obligation); client record, profile, sessions, parental consents, livery and care, 3 years after your last session or the end of the livery; volunteering, 3 years after the last event you took part in; contact form and member area messages, 12 months after the last exchange; bug reports, 12 months; sign-in cookie, 30 days.

Some providers are based in the United States: Vercel (website hosting), Calendly (booking), Formspree (contact form) and Anthropic (management assistant used only by the yard: when the yard asks it about an account, the lines of that account needed for the answer, without phone number or address, are read by its Claude model; Anthropic does not use them to train its models and keeps them only for the limited time set out in its terms, and the website does not save the conversation). Google (management spreadsheet, photo albums, sending sign-in codes) processes your data from Ireland and may transfer it to the United States. These transfers rely, depending on the provider, on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

You can access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to its use, or ask for a copy (portability) by writing to ecurie.lizaine@gmail.com; the yard replies within one month. Erasure does not apply to payment records, which the law requires the yard to keep. If you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr).
